Rockin on the River is a non-profit organization inviting all surrounding community, friends, and family, to this year’s event on September 10, 2022. The event location address is 24399 Hwy 190, Krotz Springs, LA 70750. This is an outdoor event with an all-day event schedule.
This Year’s Recipient – Mason Richard
This year our recipient is 14-year-old Mason Richard, he is the son of Shannon and Tiffany Stanford Richard. The Richard’s are lifelong residents of St. Landry Parish, and have two children, Mason (14) & Spencer (9). Shannon and Tiffany raise their family with strong Christian beliefs. Both children currently attend Lafayette Christian School.
Medical Diagnosis
Mason became unwell on April 27th, 2022, and has since been in Memphis, TN at St. Jude’s. Mason has Leukemia with specific genetic identifiers that define Mason’s case as EXTREMELY RARE! Genetics testing concluded that there are no other cases of AML with this genetic make-up, this among other factors determined that he would need a bone marrow transplant. His family is looking at the possibility of being out of work and in Tennessee for over a year!
AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) with a Subtype MLL-r (Mixed Lineage Leukemia). Chromosomes (11-KMT2A) (11,14) partnered with (T-10). This partner gene increases HIS risk for recurrence.
