St. Landry Parish 4-H held its annual Achievement Day in-person for the first time in 3 years since COVID-19. The event took place on Saturday, April 1st at the Yambilee Building.

A talent contest was held the Friday evening before where contestants performed in instrumental music, vocal music, and dance before district judges and selected to perform for the event.

St. Landry 4-H Ambassador Allie Devillier called the assembly to order welcoming guests and 4-H members. A parade of banners were presented by local 4-H Clubs representing the following: St. Landry Parish Homeschool 4-H Club, St. Landry Parish Junior Leadership, Beau Chene High School, and Palmetto Elementary.

Local 4-H club members and Junior Leaders participated in Achievement Day activities which consisted of project demonstrations, testing for various categories, community service projects, and talent show. District Agent Esther Boe presented a demo on making flower bombs for planting.

District Agents Lisa Benoit and Megan Plattsmier presented awards to winners who placed in each division for grades 4th-12th.

A full list of all the winners will be announced on the St. Landry 4-H Facebook Page.

It was a great success by all who participated and volunteered.
