This photograph from the past is a glimpse of what it was like to drive through Port Barre, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana in 1947. Main Street in the town located on Highway 190 just to the east of Opelousas, is on route to Louisiana’s capital in Baton Rouge today just as it was all those years ago.
