BEAU CHENE 2022 SOFTBALL
Class 4A Semifinal: Beau Chene (25-4) plays Franklin Parish Friday at noon in Sulphur.
Moving Through the Playoffs: Sixth-seeded Beau Chene defeated No. 27 Morgan City (13-0), No. 11 Assumption (7-4) and Neville (6-3). Franklin Parish is seeded 10th.
Looking at The Season: The Gators don’t have a senior starter, but head coach Thad Dickey said there was sufficient momentum carryover from last year when Beau Chene played for a state championship a second time. Beau Chene has won 16 of the last 17 games.
The Way the Coach Sees It: “It was hard to say how good we could be at the start, since we had a large group of new starters. The players that came back worked hard and they are also talented. Being in Sulphur the last four years helped. The young girls we play now saw what the program has done and we ready to step in.” – Thad Dickey
Fundamentals Fell Into Place
Dickey says the Gators have developed consistency now within the circle and his players have been able to string together games in which they have received what he describes as solid hitting along with good defense.
