Press Release: Eunice Police Department
Eunice, LA. – Wednesday, September 28, The Eunice Police Department, with the assistance of the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, arrested Isaiah Brett Carrier, 19, of E. Ardoin Street, Eunice, Acadia Parish. He was arrested on a charge of Second Degree Murder stemming from a reported overdose on September 12.

The 17 year old victim was found by family, unresponsive, in his bed on the morning September 12, 2022. He was transported to Acadian Medical Center in Eunice and then transferred to a Baton Rouge hospital where he later died. Preliminary toxicology reports indicate the presence of Fentanyl.

An investigation ensued leading police to the conclusion that Carrier had supplied the narcotics that led to the victim’s death.

The Eunice Police Department and Chief Randy Fontenot hope to get two messages out through this release of information.
First, Drugs kill. In many cases, as this one, one never knows what they are getting when purchasing drugs from the streets. Many street drugs today are laced with Fentanyl, which has caused too many deaths recently.
Second, If you provide drugs to anyone and they die as a result, we will charge you their murder.
