The 44th annual Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Festival held Saturday at the Yambilee Building. The music got underway at noon with Chubby Carrier And The Bayou Swamp Band followed by continuous music featuring Rusty Metoyer and Zydeco Kush; Geno Delafose and French Rockin Boogie; C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band; Nathan Williams and the Zydeco Cha Cha’s; Leroy Thomas and the Zydeo Roadrunners; and Mike Broussard and Nu Edition Zydeco.
Under the heritage tent there were french lessons, zydeco dance lessons, jam sessions and a scrubboard lessons and exhibit featuring Grammy Award winner Earl Sally.
