According to KATC – TV 3 in Lafayette, an Off-Duty St. Landry Parish Deputy was shot on I-49 in Lafayette Parish near Carencro. According to reports, the deputy was traveling on the interstate with his wife and small children about 2:30 when the shooting took place. He was shot in the shoulder, and was the only one injured. Reports say this may have been a road rage incident.

The latest report stated a suspect was stopped in Lafayette near Ambassador Caffery Drive. He is not in custody at this time.

The deputy is being treated for his injury at Opelousas General Hospital, and is in stable condition.
