An arrest has been made in the March 15, 2023 shooting that fatally wounded one 22 year old Xavier Bryant of Opelousas. Lentrell Gentris age 22 of Opelousas has been booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail.
Fire Damages Kelly’s Diner in Opelousas
A fire on South Union Street in Opelousas last night did heavy damage to Kelly’s Diner, a popular restaurant that has operated in Opelousas for over 40 years.

Opelousas Police are currently on the scene of a shooting that resulted in the death of one male victim. The shooting occurred at about 5:00 P.M. in the 800 blk of Jerome Lp.
