Late Tuesday, November 29, 2022, the St. Landry Parish Grand Jury indicted three men and one juvenile for the second-degree murder of a fifteen-year-old that happened on November 2nd on North Main Street in Opelousas.
Daylan Wheeler, Christopher Coleman, Desment Green and juvenile Daqualon Robinson, along with the homicide, were also charged with obstruction of justice in connection with the crime.
The victim died of a single gunshot wound to the head when shots were fired from a vehicle driven by Wheeler. The four defendants fled the scene in the vehicle and turned themselves in to the Opelousas Police Department several days later. Wheeler, Green and Coleman are set for arraignment on Thursday, December 1, 2022. Daqualon Robinson will be arraigned on January 5, 2023.
