Gabriel Steven Perez, a native from Port Barre, is set to star as the male lead in an upcoming Horror/Mystery film, “Morrow Road”.

Gabe Perez grew up in the town of Port Barre, Louisiana, where he attended school and graduated from Port Barre High School in 2020. Although his interest in acting started at age 13, his acting career didn’t officially kick off until 2021.
Shortly after graduating Gabe pursued professional wrestling, training under WWE professionals until he became injured resulting in having to return home and take a break from the ring.
“I decided now was the perfect time to start acting. This is when I began my journey and started training with my acting coach Amy Lyndon and Greg Zanfardino at the Lyndon Technique.” It was a life-changing decision that launched him into success early in his career becoming part of multiple award-winning short films at the Orlando Independent Filmmakers Festival, in which he was nominated for “Best Lead Actor” and “Best Supporting Actor” during his time there.
Gabe presently owns his own production company called “Matthew Steven Media,” where he creates commercials and short films. Most recently, he completed filming in June of this year for the bizarre horror-comedy movie titled “The Cramps: A Period Piece” by Brooke H. Cellars at Warped Witch Cinema. In this project, he portrays the self-centered, womanizing antagonist named “Falcon.”

Later this year he will be joining award-winning actress, Kijsa Gifford, who is also a relative to Marilyn Monroe, in the upcoming horror feature film, “Morrow Road” directed by Francis Sampier. Filming will take place in Clay Township, Michigan, in which Perez and Gifford will play the two leading characters of the film, Ivy (Gifford), and Nathan (Perez).
The synopsis for the film is as follows: “In Clay Township, Michigan, a local legend becomes a frightening reality when an 1800’s mystery forces a group of young adults on a deadly quest to learn firsthand what is really going on at Morrow Road”.
Morrow Road begins with a less than innocent coming of age story about two lovers, Ivy Lozon and Nathan Angling, and their friends. Will they solve the mystery of Morrow Road? Or become prey to one of the most well-documented haunted locations in America. The movie is based off of the real Michigan legend and features a total of 10 different real-life theories that exist on the mystery behind the haunted Morrow Road. Gabriel Steven Perez and Kijsa Gifford are set to lead the main cast of the movie, which will begin production later this fall.
Though he’s no stranger to the big screen, Gabe will also be lending his talents locally as he will be debuting in his first play before a live audience in the upcoming play adaptation of Little Women at the Opelousas Little Theatre. You can see him live in action starring as Laurie this Friday night at 7pm, Saturday at 8pm and a Sunday matinee at 2pm at the Opelousas Little Theatre located behind the Fire Station on South Union Street in the South City Park.
