March 9: Join Marie for an exploration of the history, lifestyle and economy of local cultivators.

March 16, 23 and 30: Come hear stories by area residents about personal experiences on the farm. Everyone is invited to participate.

The ongoing exhibit, coordinated by Ms. Marcel, showcases historical and current contributions of Negro farmers in the area. Displays of photos and farming tools illustrate work and lifestyle.

The project is sponsored by the Atchafalaya National Heritage Area, a division of the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism. The project also receives support from CLECO and the City of Opelousas.
