The Opelousas Pregnancy Center Board of Directors has named Arianna Fontenot as the new Executive Director of OPC.
Fontenot’s background as teacher, small business owner, and volunteer coordinator, combined with a deep passion for facilitating abundant life for those in need, will help to further advance the mission and ministry of the Opelousas Pregnancy Center. “We are thrilled to welcome Arianna as our new Executive Director,” says Stuart Amidon, Opelousas Pregnancy Center Board of Directors President. “Her faith, passion, and enthusiasm are contagious and we cannot wait to see the new phase of life she leads the Opelousas Pregnancy Center into.”
When Fontenot assumes the role September 5, she will manage the day-to-day operations of the center that has grown to serve over 420 women and save over 25 babies since inception. She will also join the team in place making final preparations for the “Be the Spark Gala,” a major fundraising event for the center to be held September 17, 2022 in Opelousas, LA.
“I look forward to carrying the vision forward of supporting abundant life for women and their babies,” says Fontenot. “Proverbs 29:18 tells us without vision people perish. I look forward to being used by God to cast vision through Christ for an abundant life for the women we serve and their babies. God has great plans in store for OPC, and I am so honored to be a part of His Kingdom work!”
Fontenot succeeds Mika Hernandez, the first Executive Director for the Opelousas Pregnancy Center. Mika departs having accomplished more than launching the center from scratch, she knit together a family of passionate volunteers, dedicated donors, critical community relationships, and a place where love conquers fear and mothers choose life for themselves and their babies.
