Part 4 of 4

In the final series, the Cloning of Law Enforcement Phone Numbers Scam is fairly new but the Prince / Foreign Lottery Winning Scam is a long running scam.

The Cloning of Law Enforcement Phone Numbers Scam
Modern technology has grown beyond belief since Alexander Graham Bell made the first call on March 10, 1876. The advancement of land lines have grown into smart phones that serve as personal computers and like to saying goes “there is an app for everything.” The scammer uses modern technology to clone a law enforcement name and phone number then calls you and claims you owe a traffic fine or back property taxes.

The Prince and Foreign Lottery Scam
You have just won 500 million dollars from a foreign lottery you did not even enter in or a rich prince wants to send you money. You are one lucky person; all you have to do is send them money to cover the cost of the money transfer. These are two of the longest running email scams out there. You receive an email lettering you know how lucky you are and just send in your processing fee in a money gram. Of course you never receive any money and you are out of the hundreds and even in some cases thousands you sent to them.

As you can see in the four part series that there are scammers out there, they are trying to rob you out of your hard earned money and of your life savings. We have investigated these cases as well as construction scams, payroll check scams, roofing and plumbing scams, the list is too many to name. In all the cases one fact remains clear. IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT IS. We have heard this quote from our parents, law enforcement, friends, and family but still try to get something for nothing. If you receive any emails, letters, or phone calls asking you to pay in ANY form, always check it out before you send them money and become a victim of a scam.
