On September 12, 2022, at 07:23 AM, Officers with the Eunice Police Department went to a residence on Kyries Hebert St. in Eunice armed with an arrest warrant. Officers made entry into the residence and arrested Lewis Jones who is wanted by Mamou Police Department for . The charges stem from an incident involving a chase with Mamou Police Chief Brent Zachary on April 12, 2022. The chase led police to the Gullyville area just outside the Eunice city limits where Jones began shooting at Chief Zachary. .
