In recognition of April being National Child Abuse Prevention Month, on Thursday, April 20th, at 9:00 a.m., local dignitaries will join Hearts of Hope’s Children’s Advocacy Center and their partners as they plant pinwheels in the front yard of the Opelousas Satellite Office located at 720 South Main Street, Opelousas, Louisiana

Approximately 1 in 10 children will be sexually abused before they turn 18.

Hearts of Hope is the Children’s Advocacy Center for St. Landry and Evangeline Parishes, and works to provide security, care, and hope for children ages 2 through 17 who are victims of sexual abuse, human trafficking, and severe physical abuse, providing services to more than 100 children and their caregivers annually.

The Children’s Advocacy Center at Hearts of Hope Center for Sexual Trauma in Opelousas provides forensic interviews for children with open investigations of sexual and physical abuse. Our child friendly CAC and staff of trained advocates, interviewers, and counselors provide support and resources to children and their families, as well as partnerships with law enforcement and Department of Child and Family Services offices in St. Landry and Evangeline Parishes.

Hearts of Hope Center for Sexual Trauma is committed to making our programs available to child victims of abuse across Acadiana.

We Listen. We Believe. We Protect.
