Kiwanis Club of Opelousas Announces 2nd Annual Kiwanis “Spice Up” our

Investment in the Community Banquet

(Opelousas, LA) – The Kiwanis Club of Opelousas is pleased to announce its second annual Kiwanis “Spice Up” our Investment in the Community Banquet, scheduled for Wednesday, November 13th, 2024 beginning at 6 pm.  This celebration of our community and club partners will be held at the Yambilee Building at 1939 West Landry Street, Opelousas, LA 70570. 

Experience the Zest of our club and the projects implemented to fulfill our mission of improving the lives of children in our community. Join us for dinner, a recognition ceremony of our dedicated supporters, introduction of our members, an induction of leadership for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, and entertainment.

Honorees were selected based on their love and investment into the youth of our community.  The following will be honored: Julius Alsandor, Opelousas Mayor; Jessie Bellard, St. Landry Parish President; Shaunn Caillier-Harden, Opelousas City Court Judge; Joseph F. Godchaux, Jr, Owner/CEO of Dupre Carrier Godchaux; Chris Rideau, Parks and Recreation; and Robbie Tomlinson, CEO of St. Landry Bank & Trust Company.  We are proud to announce our Emcee, Marcelle Fontenot, News 15 Anchor and Opelousas Native. 

We will also be recognizing new members and inducting incoming officers for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. 

The Kiwanis Club is a non-profit, global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time.  The proceeds from this event will directly benefit the children in the Opelousas-St. Landry Parish area.
