Opelousas, LA, 11/01/2024 – Lance Armentor, BSM, MHA, President & CEO of Opelousas General Health System (OGHS) announces that Dr. Royce Darbonne has joined the OGHS Medical Staff as a hospitalist. Dr. Darbonne specializes in internal medicine and his scope of services include primary care, hypertension, diabetes management, chronic disease management & annual wellness.

Dr. Darbonne is originally from Parks, La. He completed his medical training at St. George’s University School of Medicine in St. George’s, Grenada, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He completed his residency in internal medicine from LSU Health Sciences Center/University Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Darbonne is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, American College of Emergency Physicians, and Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association.

 He joins the family practice of Dr. Michael Burnell. The medical practice is located at 138 Lazaro Blvd., Suite A., Opelousas. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the office at 337-447-4025.
