On June 27, 2024, the St. Landry Parish District Attorney’s Office tried and
convicted Jack Joseph Ray, Sr., 73, of Arnaudville of numerous sex crimes against two
juveniles that occurred over the course of 2022. The trial began earlier this week and
concluded after two days of testimony and evidence. Just short of three hours of
deliberation, a jury of twelve unanimously convicted Mr. Ray of two counts of Indecent
Behavior of Juveniles, two counts of Molestation of Juveniles, two counts of Sexual
Battery of a Juvenile, and one count of Aggravated Crimes Against Nature.
District Attorney Pitre noted how crimes against children are devastating to the
victims and their families. “These cases are often the hardest to prove, but with the
collaborative effort of Assistant District Attorney Katie Ryan, Arnaudville Police
Department, Hearts of Hope, and the Department of Family Services, we were able to
bring this matter to justice.”
Jack Joseph Ray, Sr will be sentenced on August 1, 2024.
