Persons looking for things to do this weekend need not look further that the St. Landry Parish Ag Arena where the annual Barbecue Festival is being held. If one has a yearning for barbecue it was the place to be with vendors setting up their booths all around the arena grounds. Speaking of barbecue a cookoff was held Saturday afternoon with prizes going in three categories beef, pork and chicken. There were several first place winners but the team with the most first place awards went to The Rib Shack from Youngsville, La. To work off the caloies eleven bands provided the musical entertainment with plenty of space to kick up ones heels in front of the new stage built inside the arena. The fun continues Sunday with plenty of food, carnival rides for the kids and more music. Closing the festival Sunday night will be Keith Frank and his Soileau Zydeco Band. The Barbecue Festival is hosted by the St. Landry Parish Government.
