Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reports, “On June 29, 2025 at 10:50 pm, inmates Sa’Davion George
and Demarion Levier were being relocated in the jail when they attacked a Corrections Deputy,
taking the radio and jail access key fob. They attempted to escape through various exit points,
but were denied access. When they finally were able to open a door, it led to the main floor of
the booking area where other deputies were working. The inmates were quickly subdued and
the Corrections Deputy sustained only light injuries. It is believed that the inmates falsified
suicide requests protocols in furtherance of the escape plan.” Sheriff Guidroz concludes, “If not
for the additional security protocols set in place and the fast actions of the deputies, these two
dangerous inmates would have escaped. I am proud of the entire Corrections Staff for their
efforts in safeguarding our citizens from violent criminal housed in our parish jail.”
