Last Friday, November 4, 2022, Judith Estorge, a resident of Opelousas, was introduced to the public as the new Lafayette Police Chief at a press conference held at the Lafayette Police Department in that city. The appointment of Estorge as the Police Chief of Lafayette was history making — she is the first woman to hold that position.
