Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reports, “On September 9, 2025, St. Landry Parish Narcotics
Detectives were conducting an investigation at 405 McClelland Drive in the Opelousas area.
The investigation involved the distribution of methamphetamine. A cooperative home owner
stated that Markell Guillory did keep marijuana in the home for sale. Narcotics Detectives
obtained a search warrant and recovered 4 ¾ pounds of marijuana, 48 tablets of Hydrocodone.”
Sheriff Guidroz continues, “While working this active narcotics seizure, information revealed
that, separate from this incident, another individual believed to be involved in the transporting
or distribution of narcotics from 409 McClelland Drive. Surveillance provided the identity of
the target of this investigation, Kenneth Lorden. Lorden was seen speaking to an unknown
individual in a silver Chevrolet pickup. The pickup truck with the unknown individual was
seen leaving the residence, and officers viewed a burnt taillight on the truck. A traffic stop was
conducted and the driver of the vehicle, Patrick Boast, Jr. provided verbal permission to search
the vehicle. Narcotics Detectives seized one large plastic bag with suspected marijuana residue,
approximately one pound of crystal methamphetamine and $ 1,694.00 in U.S. currency. A
search warrant at the home produced a digital scale with cocaine residue, two handguns and a
.410 shotgun.” Sheriff Guidroz concludes, “Drug dealers, by nature are opportunistic. So are
we; we use every legal process, opportunity and all information received to combat this
scourge.”
