Opelousas General Health System Foundation Announces $90,000 in Grants for Local Nonprofit Organizations
Opelousas, LA, 08/23/2024 – Pursuant to its mission, Opelousas General Health System Foundation has
announced a three-year commitment to 10 community nonprofit organizations totaling $90,000. The financial allocations will be gifted over the next three years via either a one-time gift or series of payments.
The 10 companies chosen to receive the grants were picked from a special employee-giving committee at Opelousas General Health System (OGHS). All OGHS employees can elect to participate in the system’s S.P.I.C.E. (Special People in a Caring Environment) employee-giving campaign.
“Our recipients are an inspiring group of nonprofit organizations that are truly driving change in the community we serve,” stated Cindy Torian, director of OGHS Foundation. “Our passion is to help move people forward, and that spirit runs through every one of these nonprofit organizations, which are improving the lives of countless people and families. This campaign’s inspiring group of nonprofit organizations are truly driving change in our community.”
Over the past 17 years, OGHS employees have donated over 1.4 million dollars to S.P.I.C.E. These funds have been utilized to support local nonprofit organizations, fellow employees in need, and hospital projects.
