Lance Armentor, President & CEO announced today that Shelly Soileau will join the Opelousas General Health System staff as the Chief Financial Officer effective June 3, 2024. Mrs. Soileau brings years of knowledge and experience in accounting, strategic and financial planning as well as budget development and financial analysis.

Mrs. Soileau will join us from Savoy Medical Center in Mamou, where she currently serves as Chief Financial Officer responsible for Accounting, Patient Financial Services, Health Information Management and Materials Management. Prior to this role, Mrs. Soileau served as the Director of Finance for LHC Group where she was responsible for the company’s financial operations of various service lines throughout her tenure such as Home Health, LTAC, HCBS and ACOs.

A native of Ville Platte, Mrs. Soileau earned both her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration in Accounting and her Master’s of Healthcare Administration degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Some of Shelly’s significant accomplishments include being named one of the top 25 CFOs of Louisiana for 2023 by Finance & Investing, receiving the 2023 Supply Chain Excellence Award, and receiving the Lifepoint Hospital Scott Mercy award for the region in 2008. She is also a member of ACHE and HFMA.

In her role as Chief Financial Officer, Soileau will be responsible for coordinating the fiscal affairs of the hospital, designing, and implementing systems to identify and control the income and expenditures within the facility as well as providing analysis of additional sources of revenue. Additionally in her role, she will be responsible for financial reporting to outside entities, lending institutions and various governmental agencies as well as working with the Board of Trustees to provide insight and data as requested.

Shelly enjoys spending time with her family and friends in her free time. She’s an avid reader and enjoys the outdoors, especially at their camp in Toledo Bend or relaxing at the beach. She and her husband, Scotty, have two children Sydnie and Peyton, and will be officially welcoming their daughter-in-law, Lauren to the family in February.
