Opelousas, LA, 12/16/2024 – Lance Armentor, BSM, MHA, President & CEO of Opelousas General Health System announces that Dr. Joshua Landes will join the OGHS Medical Staff effective January 6, 2025. Dr. Landes specializes in general surgery and his scope of services will include minimally invasive surgeries, colorectal procedures, amputations, and other general surgeries including hernias, gallbladder, and intestinal surgery.

Prior to joining OGHS’ medical staff, Dr. Landes was in private general surgery practice for 10 years.
Most recently, he worked at Ochsner Lafayette General as an acute care and trauma surgeon. He has over 16 years of experience as a surgeon. Dr. Landes completed his medical training at Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University in Providence, RI. He completed his residency in general surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where he served as administrative chief resident. Dr. Landes is board certified in general surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also served as an associate professor at both LSU and Ochsner Lafayette General’s Residency Programs.
He joins the practice of general surgeons, Eric Amy, M.D., Brooks Lowrey, M.D., and M. Andrew Sicard, M.D. The medical practice is located at 627 E. Prudhomme Street, Opelousas, LA. Referral appointments can be scheduled by calling the office at 337-594-3446.
