Opelousas Police Department Investigating Shooting Incident on Jefferson and Oak Street
Opelousas, LA – The Opelousas Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that was reported earlier this evening on Jefferson and Oak Street. Officers responded to the scene following multiple calls reporting gunfire in the area.
Preliminary information indicates that a female victim was injured during the incident and has been transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her condition is currently unknown.
At this time, the investigation remains active and ongoing. Detectives are working to gather evidence and interview witnesses to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
