Opelousas Police Department Prepares for the 30th Annual Creole Festival Parade
The Opelousas Police Department, in partnership with the City of Opelousas, would like to
inform residents that preparations are underway for the upcoming 30th Annual Creole Festival
Parade. Crews have begun setting up barricades along the designated route to ensure a safe
and organized event.
The parade will take place on Sunday, November 3, 2024, and is set to begin at 11:00 A.M. The
route will proceed along E. Landry St., beginning at Wallior St. West to Union St., then North on
Union St., disbanding at N. Union-N. Main St. and Prudhomme Ln.
Traffic Advisory
For those not attending the event, please plan an alternate route if traveling in the area between
11:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. We ask the public to be cautious of the barricades along the parade
route and to respect all road closures.

Safety and Clean-Up Efforts
Our top priority is the safety of all participants and attendees. To help maintain the area,
temporary trash containers will be placed along the route. We encourage everyone attending to
use these receptacles to keep our city clean.
We also wish to thank the St. Landry Parish Government and their employees for their support
in preparing for this event.
