The Opelousas Noon Rotary Club held its Installation Banquet on Wednesday evening for the 2023-2024 President and board members.

Brent’s Big Hill Café in Grand Coteau was the venue for the annual Installation Banquet with a deliciously catered dinner to celebrate the successes of the past year.

President Rick Urban introduced guest speakers and welcomed the newest member Kelly Dupre, who was inducted into the Opelousas Noon Rotary Club.

Rotary Member Greg Landry of the Lafayette Rotary Club was the guest speaker of the evening. He recognized the newly installed officers and spoke on the benefits and mission of the Rotary Foundation.

The new officers for the 2023-2024 Rotary year are:

Mike Ortego – President
Gloria Sonnier- Vice President
Bruce Gaudin – Membership Chairman
Donald D’avy – Service Projects Chairman
Candace Papillion – Treasurer

Immediately following the installation, Greg Landry presented Mike Ortego with the Paul Harris Fellowship Award for his significant support and assistance to the Rotary Club.

Rotary member Sonny Stephen was also recognized at the banquet as he was presented with the Rotarian of the Year award by Rick Urban.

Another fellow Rotary member who was recognized for the evening was Cindy Veillon Mattei, for her outstanding service to the Rotary Club of Opelousas.
