Opelousas, LA – On July 1, 2024, at approximately 1800 hours, the Opelousas Police
Department responded to a death call on S Union Street. Upon arrival, officers located a middle-
aged Black male subject who was deceased.
Investigators are treating this as a suspicious death, though they do not believe foul play was a
factor. The identity of the deceased male is being withheld pending notification of his immediate
family.
The Opelousas Police Department is committed to conducting a thorough investigation to
determine the circumstances surrounding this incident. No further details are available at this
time.
