The new location of the Opelousas Pregnancy Center on North Main Street celebrated their grand opening with an Open House and ribbon cutting ceremony with the Chamber of Commerce on Thursday evening.

The center had an outpouring of support from the community as guests, donors, volunteers, community leaders and business owners came out to celebrate the opening of their new facility. The new location serves as a community resource center offering services for pregnant women in crisis through kindness and compassion.

Board member Michelle Nezat welcomed all who came out to celebrate the center’s new location and spoke on the mission and focus of the facility to provide support for pregnant mothers to choose life for their unborn babies. An open house of the center took guests through each area of the facility where women can receive counseling, mentorship, ultrasounds, education classes and a baby boutique. The new center is also staffed with nurses, maternal education consultants, counselors and office staff among many others who coordinate events and services to help improve the health and life of moms and babies.
