Benjamin Philip Baquet, 30 years old

CHARGES:
2 nd Degree Murder
Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reports, “On November 21, 2025, the St. Landry Parish Grand Jury indicted Benjamin
Baquet on the charge of 2 nd Degree murder of a juvenile under the age of 12. This indictment stems from the
original case from 2017. Baquet’s last known address was in Texas, and upon obtaining an arrest warrant, local
authorities were notified.” Sheriff Guidroz continues, “This information was also put out to area Crime
Stoppers entities and law enforcement across a multi-state area, once it was learned that Baquet was on the run.
Alert law enforcement in the Scott County area of Kentucky located him at a residence in Georgetown,
Kentucky and took him into custody.” Sheriff Guidroz concludes, “We are grateful for the efforts of everyone
that provided information and especially to the law enforcement officers in Kentucky that helped bring this man
to justice.”
