James Douget shadows Joseph Guillory a member of the Opelousas Militia in 1779 and is laid rest in the St. Landry Catholic Church Cemetery. Douget/Guillory gives a history of his life to persons taking part in the cemetery tours and historical reenactments. The tour continues on Saturday, October 15, beginning from 6;00-6:30 PM and 7:30-800 pm. Sunday, Oct.16, at 2 pm and 3 pm. Proceeds from the cemetery tours fund the Cemetery Historical Restoration Project. The tours began in 2003 and so far 60 plus gravesites have been restored.
