OPELOUSAS RESIDENT ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES

According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “On November 7, 2022, narcotics detectives with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover investigation within St. Landry Parish.  During the investigation detectives received information that 2 pounds of marijuana were being delivered to an unknown subject within St. Landry Parish.”

Narcotics detectives made contact with a black 4 door sedan and the driver was identified as Kevin Davis, also known as “KD”.  The passenger fled on foot as detectives were making contact with the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, detectives located 2 pounds of high grade marijuana and a digital scale. The street value of the high grade Marijuana is estimated at $19,600.00.

Kevin Davis was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Landry Parish Narcotics Office.  After further investigation, it was learned that a black male, only identified as “Dut”, was the

possible passenger who fled on foot.

Kevin Davis was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on the following charges: possession with intent to distribute a schedule I CDS (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia,

transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, and turning movements and required signals. Kevin Davis also had a warrant for manufacturing with intent to distribute a schedule II CDS (“crack” cocaine) and for non-support.

This investigation is still ongoing with additional arrest warrants pending.
