St. Landry Parish Council member Wayne Ardoin is today announcing his October 14 re-election candidacy in District 9.
Ardoin emphasizes that his 30-plus years of experience in parish government provides him with firsthand knowledge of the needs of the people in District 9 in addition to the entire St. Landry Parish community.
During these extensive years of parishwide public service, he has always made himself available to hear the concerns of the people who reside within his election district.
Mr. Ardoin makes a solemn promise to continue spending tax dollars wisely by providing good roads and the best drainage systems possible for the district.
Also Mr. Ardoin promises to remain fiscally responsible for spending tax dollars and remaining transparent to the people in the district and the parish.
Mr. Ardoin stresses that he has always worked to develop good relationships with the other branches of government and serve people so that a combined effort can lead to the most efficient and productive servicing for the needs of people.
He has always made himself available to people and has always been just a phone call away no matter which district is involved. His number one concern, Ardoin says, is seeing that the concerns of the citizens are met.
A list of his accomplishments in District 9 include:
- Improved drainage and cleaning laterals on Flagg Station Road
- Cleaning laterals on Thelma Drive
- Clearing laterals on Country Ridge Road
- Cleaning laterals on Old Spanish Grant subdivision
- Cleaning the ditches along parish roads inside District 9
- In the last two years, roads in Magnolia Ridge, Meghan Drive and parts of Linwood have seen substantial road repairs using your road taxes from the Smooth Ride Fund and local taxing district.
- Also Mr. Ardoin has overseen the correction and improvement for a sewer situation in Linwood subdivision in parish sewer District 1 and used your road taxing district funds to make life healthier and better for you.
- With the help of state lawmakers, Mr. Ardoin was able to get an important traffic light installed at the connection of Harry Guilbeau Road and Sunset Highway. This provides a great aid to traffic flow and has saved many lives since installation occurred.
- Recently Mr. Ardoin used taxing district and Smooth Ride Home funding to overlay and improve Tom Schexnayder and Laine roads off Old Spanish Grant Road. Without the cooperation of parish government and our parish president, these accomplishments would not have been possible.
Mr. Ardoin additionally states that he is proud of all his accomplishments as your council member in District 9 and promises the people of the district and St. Landry Parish that he will continue to serve them with honesty and integrity.
