According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “On May 30th 2023, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit received information of a white female delivering crystal methamphetamine to a location within St. Landry Parish.
When detectives attempted to make contact with the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle rammed a St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office unit in an attempt to flee the scene.”
After a brief struggle, detectives were able to take the driver and both passengers into custody. During a search of the vehicle, detectives located a large bag containing clear crystals, suspected to be crystal methamphetamine, with an approximate weight of 112 grams (4 ounces) and two clear plastic bags containing a green vegetable material suspected to be marijuana, with an approximate weight of 12 grams. The estimated street value of the illegal narcotics located is valued at approximately $1,100.00
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Joseph Gathe, was transported to the St. Landry Parish Jail and charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS (crystal methamphetamine).
Cassie Jo Miller, the passenger of the vehicle, was transported to the St. Landry Parish Jail charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS (crystal methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The rear passenger of the vehicle, Gilbert Matthews, was transported to the St. Landry Parish Jail and charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS (crystal methamphetamine) and possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS (marijuana).
