St. Landry Parish Veterans Memorial Commemoration of the Vietnam War will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at the Veterans Memorial located on Highway 182 South/Opelousas.
The Vietnam War was a long costly and divisive conflict that pitted the communist government of North Vietnam against South Vietnam and its principal ally, the United States of America. More than 58,000 Americans were killed in the war, while more than 1600 remain missing or unrecoverable.
In commemoration of the 50th Anniversary, our heartfelt appreciation for those who served and for the sacrifices of their families. All Vietnam Veterans and their families are welcome to attend.
