Yesterday at approximately 4:45 PM Opelousas Police were called to the area of Mama’s Fried Chicken in the 500 Blk. of E. Landry St. regarding shots fired in the area.  Upon arrival officers learned that a disturbance had occurred between customers in the drive-thru and employees at the restaurant. The disturbance led to a physical altercation which in turn led to an exchange of gun fire a couple of blocks down the road from the restaurant in the 300 blk. of E. Landry St. One victim appeared to be grazed by gunfire but no serious injury occurred during the exchange. Persons of interest have been identified and officers are currently following up on that information. More details will be released as they become available.
