According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “For the past year, narcotics detectives with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office have been investigating Christopher Pierre, who is the head of the Pierre drug trafficking syndicate, and his involvement in the illegal sales of heroin and fentanyl.”

On September 15, 2022, Christopher Pierre was transported to the St. Landry Parish Jail and charged with possession with intent to distribute a schedule I controlled dangerous substance (heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and manufacturing a schedule I controlled dangerous substance.

During the ongoing investigation, information was received from a reliable confidential source that Christopher Pierre, while incarcerated at the St. Landry Parish Jail, directed three co-conspirators to travel to Houston, Texas and pick up $30,000.00 of US currency.  The money, which was obtained from selling illegal narcotics, was stored at an apartment in Texas and maintained by Christopher Pierre and other members of his syndicate.

On September 21, 2022, detectives conducted a traffic stop on a silver four door sedan on Interstate 49 within St. Landry Parish. Detectives made contact with the driver, whom they were able to identify as Summer Semien.  Semien was arrested on traffic violations and a vehicle inventory was completed prior to the vehicle being towed.  During the inventory, detectives located $28,200.00 in US currency inside the vehicle.

Summer Chanel Semien was transported to the St. Landry Parish Jail and booked on the following charges:  criminal conspiracy to commit / possession with intent to distribute a schedule I CDS (heroin), transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, money laundering, view outward / inward through windshield or windows and operating a vehicle while license is suspended.

ARRESTED: Summer Chanel Semien, age 21, Black / Female
313 N. Oak Street
Opelousas, LA., 70570
CHARGES:  Criminal Conspiracy to Commit / Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I CDS (Heroin); Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses; Money Laundering; View Outward / Inward through Windshield or Windows; Operating a Vehicle while License is Suspended

BOND:  $20,750

Detectives have also obtained an arrest warrant for Jaylen “Scully” Alexander from Opelousas for money laundering.  Jaylen Alexander was going to receive the $28,200.00 from Summer Semien and bring the currency to a local attorney to pay for the legal representation of Christopher Pierre.

Sheriff Guidroz stated, “If the detectives would have failed to intercept Summer Semien, then this money would have ultimately been paid to the attorney.  Once the attorney received payment, even without knowing the origin of the funds, this would have legitimized the currency.”

On behalf of Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, this is Deputy Chief Eddie Thibodeaux.  All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
