According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “On January 27, 2023 Crystal Bell-Edmond called 911 stating she shot her boyfriend in the back and they were at 2884 Highway 167 Apt. #D, in Opelousas.”
“When deputies arrived at the above address, Crystal Bell-Edmond was in the residence, and the victim was located at a convenience store across the street from the residence,” Guidroz added.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that when Crystal Bell-Edmond got off from work, the victim picked her up and on the way home, they got into an argument. They arrived home where the argument continued. The victim went to the bedroom and Crystal Bell-Edmond left the bedroom then returned with a handgun. The victim stated that as he attempted to get dressed, Crystal Bell-Edmond shot him in the lower back. She then called 911 to report the shooting.
On January 27, 2023, Crystal Bell-Edmond was transported to the St. Landry Parish Jail and charged with attempted second degree murder.
