The camel and zebra races held at Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino on Saturday night brought in more visitors than anticipated!
“Traffic was backed up for miles all the way from Carencro as motorists were coming from far and wide to attend this event”
Officers had to turn people away at the entrance as the venue reached maximum capacity!
Whether visitors made it to the races or had to turn away due to the amount of motorists it was a very big night for sure in St. Landry Parish!
“Can Opelousas hold this many people!?”
It’s true, I have never seen so many people in Opelousas in one night as I saw this evening. Many people had the same idea as we did once we realized making it to the races wasn’t happening and chose to dine out instead at one of the many local eateries Opelousas has to offer!
