Opelousas, Louisiana – The St. Landry Parish Registrar of Voters announces completion of State Redistricting. There were several changes in the State Senate, State Representative, and BESE (Board of Elementary and Secondary Education) Districts. If any of your districts changed, you will be receiving a new Voter ID card in the mail, which will include a notation reading “Changed by Reapportionment” on the card. If your district(s) did not change, you will not be receiving a new card in the mail.
Additionally, our office will soon begin the statewide canvassing of voter rolls. Voters should keep an eye out for mail from our office throughout the next several weeks, which will contain critical information to ensure we have the most accurate information for every voter ahead of the busy fall election season. We understand that some voters may mistake this mail for junk and not respond, but we urge everyone to take the time to verify your information to help ensure everyone has a fair and equal opportunity to participate in the election process.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to your office at (337) 948-0572 for more information.
