OPERATION CANDY MAN

According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “On May 16, 2023, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit made contact with Earl T. Johnson in the St. Landry Parish area. During a probable cause search of Johnson’s vehicle, detectives located 21 individually wrapped chocolate mushroom bars and a semi automatic handgun.” 

 While on scene, detectives came into contact with Earl Johnson’s wife, Shevon Andrus. A probable cause search of Andrus vehicle was conducted. Detectives located a semi automatic handgun.

Detectives continued their investigation and went to Earl Johnson’s residence located at 2002 Charles Burr Lane, Opelousas to conduct a search warrant of the residence.  During the search, the following items were located: an AR platform rifle, 2 shotguns and a total amount of $18,080.00 in US currency.

The estimated street value of the illegal narcotics is $880.00. 

Earl Johnson was booked into the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office and charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS (psilocybin), illegal carrying of weapons; crime or CDS, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
