The Opelousas Imperial Mardi Gras Association kicks off the Mardi Gras season Jan. 13 and 14 with two events leading up to the Grand Mardi Gras Ball to be held Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Delta Grand Theater. On Saturday the OIMGA will host a cocktail party honoring this year’s royalty KIng Joseph “Joe” Godchaux and Queen Aquanits Zachary. The event is being held at The Parlor, 117 South Main Street, beginning at 7 pm. A Sunday morning brunch from 11 am to 2 pm will be held at La Bellevue Petit Chateau located on Bellevue Street in downtown Opelousas.
