Sadie Sloane, a third-year architectural student at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette who is also working as a summer intern at D’Avy and Associates of Opelousas and Architects Alliance of Acadiana recently won multiple design and concept awards in different independently-judged competitions during the past year.
The student from Opelousas captured a first place project award in competition sponsored by LA Digital and another separate Design Excellence Award that was presented to her for overall excellence in work performed by a third-year student.
Sloane, who plans to pursue post-graduate work in architecture, also had her School of Architecture and Design concept project accepted as one of six that will be used to build and install the little library in North Lafayette.
Her internship associated with the Architects Alliance is enabling Sloane to better understand professional architectural practice.
