A late afternoon thunderstorm didn’t dampen the spirits of the Opelousas Rotary Club Sunrise After Dark as they held their weekly meeting Wenesday evening at the historic Michel Prudhomme Home. Prior to the start of the meeting Rotary Club President Bruce Alsandor introduced guest speaker James Douget who spoke on the history of the home followed by a tour of the residence conducted by Etha Aming. Douget and Amling are members of the Preservationist of St. Landry. The Preservationists of St. Landry, Inc. is a non-profit organization based in Opelousas, Louisiana, dedicated to protecting local history and maintaining the historic Michel Prudhomme House (Ringrose). The organization presents annual awards to recognize outstanding local restoration efforts.
