Red Beans and Sausage with cake and lemon pops for dessert was the menu for Port Barre Police Chief Deon Boudreaux’s summer luncheon and bingo game for senior citizens over the age of 60. Over 100 senior citizens were on hand for the Senior Luncheon Program which was started in 2004 by former police chief David Richard. Prizes for the bingo games were donated by the many vendors who were on hand to speak and answer questions pertaining to finances, health and safety for senior citizens. A special presentation of a “We Back the Blue”floral wreath given to Chief Boudreaux by local residents showing their support for the Port Barre Police Department.
