On a cool Wednesday March afternoon Pat Mason Guillory. St. Landry Parish Veterans Memorial CEO, along with memorial volunteers, welcomed Marc Carter, Gulf States Insurance Group president and CEO who presented her with a check in the amount of $5000 in memory of the late Bobby Dupre. Dupre donated the land where the memorial is located and donated the first $25,000 to the memorial project. Also on hand for the check presentation was Noel J. Bunol IV, Gulf States Insurance and Coastal American Insurance Company executive vice president. Volunteers present were Rose Hollier, Jerome Gaudet, Perry Fontenot and Joseph Lee. Following the check presentation Mason Guillory took the visitors on a tour of the site that included the visitors and information center which was recently dedicated.
