Opelousas General Health System recently welcomed three new physicians to our medical staff. Dr. David Chachkhiani is originally from Tbilisi, Georgia. He specializes in the treatment of dementia, epilepsy, headaches, multiple sclerosis, neck & back pain, stroke, Botox for headaches & spasticity and other neurological conditions.
Dr. Chachkhiani received his medical degree from David Tvildiani Medical University in Tbilisi, Georgia. He completed his Residency, Internship and Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA.
He is joining Dr. Saurabh Singhal in our WellSmart Health Neurology Clinic located at 1270 Attakapas Drive, Suite 501, Opelousas, LA. Office hours are Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. – Noon. Appointments are by referral and can be made by calling 337-678-4152.
Dr. Brooks Lowrey, General Surgeon, recently joined the OGHS medical staff. He is originally from Melville, LA. Dr. Lowrey received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA. He completed his Internship and Residency from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA.
He is joining Dr. Eric Amy, Dr. Anupam Gupta, Dr. Andrew Sicard and Dr. Salvador Vazquez at WellSmart Health Surgical Associates Clinic located here in Opelousas at 627 E. Prudhomme Street. Office hours are Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. – Noon. Appointments can be made by calling 337-594-3446.
We also welcomed Dr. George Semien, Anesthesiologist, who is originally from Lawtell, LA. Dr. Semien received his medical degree, completed his Internship and Residency from University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, NY. He has practiced as an anesthesiologist for over 15 years working in Miami, Pensacola and other areas of Florida. He most recently worked at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
He is joining Drs. Trevor Peck and Gregory Verlander of WellSmart Health – Anesthesia. Dr. Semien will work in Surgery and in other areas providing anesthesia services to our patients.
