BATON ROUGE MAN ARRESTED DURING TRAFFIC STOP

On March 14th 2022, narcotics detectives conducted a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle on Interstate 49 in the Opelousas area. Detectives made contact with the driver, who was identified as Luke Taylor Peever via his Louisiana driver’s license.

During the traffic stop, K-9 “Chaos” with the Opelousas Police Department gave a response for the odor of illegal narcotics. A search of the vehicle was conducted. Detectives located 5.8 pounds of high grade Marijuana inside the vehicle. The street value is estimated at approximately $58,000.00.

Luke Peever was booked into the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Jail for possession with intent to distribute a schedule I CDS (Marijuana) and other traffic charge.
