St. Landry Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz is confirming an early morning homicide at the KC Hall located off of Hwy 104 in the Opelousas area.
On February 6, 2022 just before 1:30am the sheriff’s office was notified that a male subject was dropped off at a local hospital with a gunshot wound and later died from his injury.
The investigation revealed that a group of people was at the hall and two vehicles were shot along with the male victim.
The victim is identified as 19 year old Damien Joseph Lastrapes Jr of Opelousas. The investigation is ongoing and no other information is available.
